How to Succeed in Life?

The question itself is so ambiguous, how can the answer be any clearer. But still, let me try. There is no clear mark set to measure success in specific terms. So, its upto the individual's interpretation of what success means to him/her. But most times, individuals are influenced by the society in measuring relative success. And this occurs in terms of comparison of material possessions. Money, Fame, Power among many other vices.

For me, success means happiness, satisfaction. If i am satisfied, then thats enough. I dont need to prove it to anybody that i have done so. I know it, and thats good enough. You may call this careless (rather than carefree) attitude. But I think its basic freedom. Why do i need to worry about what the world thinks about the work i am doing? They wont come and help me when i am stuck, will they.

Success is when i manage to get up early sometimes and walk up to the college, breathing the cleanest air, listening to those wonderful birds, savoring nature's painting, feeling a tinge of wind on the skin, and for a moment feeling the presence of the supernatural. Success is when you can make someone smile without cutting a joke on a third person. Success is when you can lend a helping hand even before its asked for, do the work, and move away even before realization sets in that somebody did a favor. Success is about having a clean heart, an alert mind, and a clear conscience. And when you are like that, do you even need to think about money, fame and power??
